Dr. Alicia Cabezudo. Professor. She is Emeritus Professor at the School of Education/University of Rosario, Argentina and at the UNESCO CHAIR on Culture of Peace and Human Rights/University of Buenos Aires. Her work is rooted in research and pedagogy in the field of Democracy, Citizenship, Intercultural Studies, Interreligious Dialogue, Culture of Peace and Human Rights Education. Her current research focuses in public policies related to educational programs for building citizens’ participation, culture of peace and democracy – particularly at local level. She has also been working for the past twenty years in training educators on her expertise field. She is Annual Visiting Professor at the MA in Peace Education at the University of Peace – Costa Rica, at the MA on Development, Conflict and Peace, at the University Jaume I – Castellon, Spain and at the MA in Mediation and Conflict Resolution in the University of Barcelona, Spain. She teaches Culture of Peace Summer Courses to Arabic attendants in the Summer Institute of the Institute of Peace Studies -IPS- at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Egypt.
She was the Conveyor of the Program Education for Democracy, Culture of Peace and Human Rights launched by the Fundación Cultura de Paz, Madrid in Latin America during the years 2006-2008 and a new one 2010-2012. Present Consultant and former Organizer Director of the Latin American Office of the International Association of Educating Cities (Barcelona Town Hall) at the Municipality of Rosario, Argentina (1997-2006). She is Visiting Professor in many universities of Europe, USA and Latin America and was recently pointed as Faculty of a new program on Peace Education and Democracy in Jeju University, South Korea. From the year 2009 Anna Lindh Foundation (Alexandria, Egypt) invited her for consultation in the fields of intercultural dialogue, culture of peace and coexistence. She was pointed as member of the Think-Tank Group of the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe – for the period 2010-2012. She is also vice president of International Peace Bureau, Geneva, Switzerland.
She has published many books, articles and contributions in her expertise field.

The International Peace Bureau is dedicated to the vision of a World Without War. It is a Nobel Peace Laureate (1910) and over the years, 13 of its officers have been recipients of the Nobel Peace Prize.
The 320 member organisations in 70 countries, together with individual members, form a global network, bringing together expertise and campaigning experience in a common cause. The current main programme of the organisation centres on Sustainable Disarmament for Sustainable Development.
IPB has been in Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council since the 1970s. It also has associate status with the Department of Public Information. IPB acts as the secretariat of the Geneva-based NGO Committee for Disarmament, which is a committee of CONGO, the Conference of NGOs in Consultative Status with ECOSOC.
